This Pediatric Board Review sample question involves an 8 year old boy who, according to the parents, has been experiencing excessive flatulence and abdominal pain on weekends after going out for ice cream with friends after ball games in summer time. He has been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis which is kept under control with emollient creams and he has not experienced any flare-ups in several years.
